All About Pouch

It has been more than a month since I updated the last entry. You can tell by how many pouches I have sewn below. :-)

Okay, let's start with our fabric pouch. I've sewn 50 pieces of them as a doorgift of an event. I used Ikea fabrics for its quirky and creative designs. Love them. A pouch has a standard measurement of 5"x8"x2", and can fit most stationery, cosmetics or even a toothbrush!

Now let's move on to felt pouch. Each design has a special touch of me. They are of standard size as the above.

Making those felt pouches are more tricky than fabric's because you have to think of the designs and turn them into reality by hand-sewn them in place. They are surely took more time than sewing all 50 pcs fabric pouches.

Drawstring Bag for Me & for You

Drawstring bag a.k.a beg uncang or beg cerut in Bahasa.

I was requested to make a drawstring bag to put Surah Yaasin and other baby stuff by a friend, for her newborn baby, and I made the above bag as a sample. It was my first attempt and I think I nailed it! It was for my daughter, putting her toiletries inside, hence the Timmy the baby sheep motive. She loves Timmy Time very much she dances to its song!

After the success attempt, I confidently made the requested bag. The word 'BABY' says it all. 

Notice the cute blue car? It is a brooch and detachable, matches the car on the fabric.

Felt Pouch.. for a Boy and a Girl

This cupcake theme is for a 6 years old birthday girl. To suit the theme, I used balloon appliques for her name background. Love this one!

These two were an emergency orders, at the wrong time! My sewing machine was in the repair shop at that moment so I have to hand-sewn the pouches like crazy. It took me a whole day to sew one pouch by hand. If only my machine was in the mood that day, I would have finished those two in a blink. ;-)

But I always love what I do, no matter how hard it is! :-)

Rilakkuma Felt Pouch

I never heard of Rilakkuma before. So I googled about it and apparently there's a lot who love this little cute bear, including my cousin - well, of course most of them are girls. She wants Rilakkuma to be on her pouch, and thus the results:

The material used is felt, all the appliques and zips were hand-sewn except the pouch itself, machined.

Felt Pouch

These pictures have been in my folder for quite a long time - three months old. Totally forgotten to post them here. My apology. 
This is a pouch specially made for my niece. With dimensions of 5"x9", I added a butterfly applique and some flower buttons to complete the style. And at the back of the pouch, I stitched her name on it.

Meanwhile, the below pouch is made for my sister, with spider web as her pattern of choice. The little bug is apparently attracted to the web :-)

Felt Bag

Ideal to put your stationery or cosmetics stuffs or whatever you feels like it, this 5" x 9" felt bag is made by polyester felt and 100% handmade. You can call it a bag or a pouch. I prefer bag.

This is my first felt bag made for my husband. It is big enough to store his 10 pens, a marker, a stapler, two erasers and two highlighters. 

On the inside, I put a cotton lining as the inner to cover up the messy thread from the circles motives. I stitched along the zip and the bag using green embossed thread.

Below are two more felt bags I made for my friends. Wool yarn is used to stitch around the bags.

I added a thin soft padding for the purple one hence the puffy look.
